Since 1998, Progressive Produce’s
management and employees have been committed to a comprehensive Quality Improvement and Food Safety Program. As these programs have evolved, Progressive has distinguished itself as a world-class supplier of products with an impeccable Food Safety Program. Independent third party audits of our facilities consistently rank in the excellent category.
All areas and equipment in our facilities are under constant review and
monitoring to ensure the highest quality and safety of our products. A omprehensive preventative maintenance and sanitation program designed
to assure the highest quality and safety of the products we ship is strictly adhered to.
We’ve recently upgraded our warehouse refrigeration and lighting with all-new, state-of-the-art, energy-efficient, environmentally friendly systems. In addition to improved productivity and safety, new systems reduce produce aging and dramatically reduce energy use.
Progressive is also implementing an ozone washing system, currently in use
on our MicroBaker line. Ozone is a powerful is infectant and washing produce
in ozonated water has many benefits over other washes, including
improved taste and appearance of produce, greater shelf life, and the elimination
of chlorinated byproducts, pesticides and other chemical residues. And the ozone
breaks down into pure oxygen in minutes in water.
Ongoing educational training programs are in place ensuring that employees
are trained and aware of proper and safe food handling principles as they relate to our Good Manufacturing Programs.

Validation of the effectiveness of our programs is confirmed by a microbiological testing program that includes swabbing of equipment and surfaces as well as product testing.
In addition to the aforementioned programs, we also have comprehensive Trace / Recall, Food Security and Crisis Management Programs and Procedures in place to assure the highest levels of safety and security for the products
we ship. Good Agricultural Practices and Prerequisite Programs are now being developed with our suppliers as well. Functions from pre-harvest through post-harvest including site selection, adjacent land use, chemical usage, water sourcing and usage, pest control, and harvesting practices including worker hygiene, equipment and field sanitation, product transportation and storage,
are controlled, monitored and documented.
